Sewing onward

I just sewed the last of the last section, first pass. I’m going to stick it on the wall just to get a glimpse of the whole thing closer to being finished. Then there will be quite a few nights of ironing, making all the little seams open and flat.

The audiobooks are working out well for these long stretches. I started listening to Pyle’s The Story of King Arthur and His Knights but I think I’d like to finish The Mabinogian first. One of the first adventures in the Pyle version is told as The Lady of the Fountain in the Welsh telling. There was a lot of back and forthing in my brain. And, I own a print copy of King Arthur.

Meanwhile, some haiku to close the night.

Saved this piece of pie
sweet reward for finishing.
Soft dark blueberries

Beside the pie plate
with its scatter of brown crumbs
the hot steamy tea.

Ironing ahead
The looming lines of short seams
standing up quite straight.

Before ironing
I’ll put the rest on the wall
Make it whole again.
