Scary things that swim

I couldn’t find the link someone posted of the lady attacked while swimming somewhere on the coast of New Jersey by a monstrous being. The event scarred her for life.

Tonight i am reading a bit more Mabinogion and wonder how to pronounce Addanc. So of course, I look it up and Wikipedia says:

The Afanc (Welsh pronunciation: [?avank], sometimes also called Addanc, [?aðank]) is a lake monster from Welsh mythology. Its exact description varies; it is described variously as resembling a crocodile, beaver or dwarf-like creature, and is sometimes said to be a demon. The lake in which it dwells also varies; it is variously said to live in Llyn Llion, Llyn Barfog, near Brynberian Bridge or in Llyn yr Afanc, a lake near Betws-y-Coed that was named after the creature.

Just sayin’.

The thing that was most amazing was this next bit:

Some later legends ascribe the creature’s death to King Arthur or to Percival (Peredur’s name in the later Arthurian legend of the continent and England).
