If this is ___, this must be ____…

aka I have no idea what day it is and really have to work at where I’m supposed to be and doing what, exactly?

Where was I?

Oh yeah. I’m in a spurt of taking some vacation days to do various things – starting with my trip to loverly Athens Ohio for Quilt National, then a couple days at work, then a couple days at Brant Lake, then a couple days at home, then a day at work, then a day off, and a day at work and then…

well I think you get the picture. I’m confused. If iCal gives up, I’m going to be in a lot of trouble. That’s pretty much the norm for schedule through the end of the month.

Went to work today, that much I’m sure of. Felt rather surreal. Talked to co-workers. Talked to customers. Talked to Christine and Joe, on their way to the airport and hence to Vegas. Talked to an over-the-top-stressed-out teacher who ended up in tears (ok, doing deadline stuff on a new computer and being so stressed you can’t even follow simple instructions – just not going to be good). I did get a word in that um, she had to go home with the husband that she’d just told to go away LOL. All ended at least not in tears, but I’m doubtful about the real outcome. Anyway.

Drove home obviously heading into a big thunderstorm. Had quite awhile of big boomers, downpours etc. Blipped the computer off, so I unplugged it and made myself a weird little dinner and opened up a nice Newcastle.

On the good news front, I found a taker for the backgammon set that was lying around for a long time, and for a nice book about sign language. The fellow I thought might like the Smithsonian magazine said he wasn’t allowed to bring any home LOL. Oh! And my new birkie sandals arrived from West Virginia. Thank you birkies people!

And I remembered to call the program at work that offers services like financial advice etc because I could use some financial advice. It will be interesting to see what they say. Starts with a phone meeting.

I guess on that note I’m going to go putter in the sewing room for a bit.

Recycling

I have been slowly going through stuff, mainly in my sewing room and throwing out a lot of paper stuff that builds up over time. The past day or so I’ve tackled two book shelves and another room which means the paper recycling bin is seriously over-flowing. Have a couple of piles of stuff to offer as freebies, a small one to offer as good reads, etc. A box of books that has no explanation whatsoever LOL.

I’m still in the “made a bigger mess than it was before, and before it gets better again” phase but that’s ok.

sunday night

Been a quiet week on the web front here, but stuff going on IRL took me away from home again for a couple days. Nights have been mostly just puttering about, thinking about the trip to Quilt National and the who’s and why’s and all and about the family stuff and about work and my house and other people’s lives and… well you get the idea.

Tonight after work I just HAD to do some grocery shopping and am trying to put some healthy stuff in the frig with the idea that I will actually try to eat it. LOL. Always easier to buy it than to actually eat it. Bought some mighty fine Newcastle Brown Ale to wash it all down with.

When I opened the door, there was little squirt (aka Molly) to meet me at the door and apparently in celebration, the cats had turned on my accordions R Us playlist in iTunes. Gotta love cats with good taste! Have to say I think that’s the first time I’ve been greeted by music selected and provided by the cats. I hope they enjoyed it before I got home!

So now I’ve eaten and had a mighty fine Newcastle and now I’m not sure what I’ll do.

Oh and PS – Chrome I hardly knew ye, and after trying you for a few days I’m going back to Firefox and Safari because… well, I can deal with software that doesn’t have a feature or two, or does something a bit differently. I just don’t want to deal with a software that SAYS I can set a home page and open new pages with my home page and then… doesn’t. Better luck next time, thanks for playing. Was a bit faster but not enough to overlook all the other problems.
