Happy Fathers Day to my Dad and to fathers everywhere! Thanks for all the help and helping hands you offered over the years – I appreciate it more and more as time goes by. It’s fun and often heart-warming watching the young crop of fathers at work, a new generation of young guys having to figure it out all over again (no sleep? what?) and doing a really nice job of it. No doubt they had some good role models along the way.
I’ve been fiddling around with some other stuff and now want to get back doing those long seams. Hopefully I’ll have a few blocks of time this week before my trip to Sacred Threads. Although I love piecing, it doesn’t work to be too scattered in the brain while doing it. Enough focus to get into it and then it’s pretty smooth sailing.
A day or morning without rain to mow the lawn would be good too.
Had a thought yesterday about a new quilt but my brain was doing all sorts of things so I didn’t get it jotted down. I wasn’t too concerned because the image of it kept coming back to the top of the pile as it were.
This can be dangerous if I can’t remember the idea but it can also be a plus because one’s brain keeps rolling around or gnawing on a problem or idea in the meantime.
By the time i set it down on paper today at lunch, I had some additional ideas, some thoughts on size and other stuff so it was worth the wait!
Art affirms all that is best in manhope, faith, love, beauty, prayer…What he dreams of and what he hopes for. What is art? Like a declaration of love: the consciousness of our dependence on each other. A confession. An unconscious act that none the less reflects the true meaning of life—love and sacrifice.
