The thread comes next

I spent some time this weekend (a rare weekend off) pinning this quilt. I was blessed to have great movies on the TV to keep me company – that hasn’t happened in a long time LOL. Now it’s all hanging back up on the wall. I’d like to do some different color threads as part of this. In fact the thread picking and having an idea of any designs involved kept me from leaping into it yesterday. Once I’m started there’s gotta be something overwhelming to make me want to unquilt something!

So two things to decide in the next couple days – what thread colors and where they’ll go, and any big over-arching designs. One thing I’m quite certain of is that the colors on the far left will be such as not to detract from the brightness.

Are we there yet?

Ah that illusive thought in your head – we can’t always get it exactly into the media at hand, but we have to get close enough. We also have to pay attention to know whether we are close enough.

Often the problem is not being sure – sometimes hanging it up and waiting a few days resolves the question. Otherwise it gives you a chance to ferment on the problem and come up with something to try.

Plowing through ummm stuff

Having spent the last couple days doing a self-appointed and let me tell you pretty much ridiculous task which involved hours of typing and squinting at small print, tonight I decided that I could work my way through my untitled blog posts.

When I moved from Blogger to WordPress a long time ago, I’d been blogging for a long time already. I found a way to import my Blogger posts to WP and it worked. The one hitch is that Blogger had had no “Titles” for blog posts, just using the date, for a big part of my blog. Those posts came over to WP with a long rather random-esque number for the title. Looked awful. Rummaged around for advice and realized that WP is database driven and it’s MY database and so I went in and replaced all those numbers with a string of hyphens and spaces. At least it just looked like a failed bit of type-graphics stuff, LOL.

Lately I have been watching WP’s Site Stats and every once in awhile I see someone has viewed a page titled “- – – – -“. As soon as I saw that, I decided each time I saw one I’d go in and give it a real title.

Tonight I figured what the heck, if I can plow through two days of totally ridiculous work, I can make a project out of coming up with titles for past blog posts. So I’m going to do a bunch at a time, when I am in between things. It was sort of fun to revisit the early days.

The return of the Blimp – circa 2003
