Happy June First!
Tomorrow is the beginning of the Queen’s Jubilee Week of celebrations. I am planning on wearing a variety of crown pins etc in commemoration!

A few late night #haiku – Farewell to May
I’m sticking brown squares up on the wall, but I didn’t want to leave you without a few haiku tonight.
the last day of May
it leaves without the party,
the rush of May Day
Turn the calendar
Turn the page to June’s newness
Farewell to the May.
The browns of my quilt
twinkle grey and sepia
with a hint of red.
May, Oh month of May
We’ll remember all winter.
We recall spring: May.
The air is, tonight,
perfect, not too hot or damp
the frogs are singing.
Browns… Must have more browns
I found a few more browns to add to the mix, washed and pressed them, cut strips and cut squares. They fit in really well and that means I get to try and sneak some into the area that’s already stuck up on the wall.
When I started to do that, there wasn’t really anything that stuck out at me as needing replacing, but I switched out a few and they didn’t stick out either. So I guess that’s all good.
Watching a re-run of James Taylor and Carole King at the Troubadour on our local PBS station. Took some guts I think for her to come out of many years not doing concerts, but it’s great to hear the two old friends together again.
Tomorrow the first Camp NaNoWriMo starts. I think I’ll take a pass on it and try to get this quilt done so I can work on the August one. Thre’s a pipe dream for ya!

Dreams of @neilhimself and being Jubilee ready
It’s very rare that I remember any dreams and probably the only reason I remember this one is because I woke up from surprise.
I found myself standing in a small kitchen with a couple people sitting at a table. On my left, a familiar tousle of hair caught my attention and it was Neil Gaiman ministering to a wonderful pale green, four-legged wood stove with double ovens.
I was told once to interpret a dream, give it a movie title and then a subtitle.
What? Strange Cozy Kitchen, with a writer and the stove of my dreams?
Meanwhile I am out and about for a few today wearing a proper hat and a pin which seemed just right to start off my Jubilee festivities.
