Those who are waiting for an epiphany to strike may wait forever. The artist simply goes to work, making art, both good and not so good. — Chuck Close

trying to get into the swing of sewing all the squares together in the first pass. I’m planning on doing three sets of 10 or 11 columns each to make the ironing phase easier but I’ve been distracted by jubilee specials and just tiredness.
I spent part of my lunch today re-reading the near current end of my NaNoWriMo story trying to figure out how to change the direction. I realized I could insert a more character correct thing and then come back to a shortened version of what is the current last-bit-written. I went back to the natural break and added a couple spaces and after
“I wonder how that ottoman got in the way?” Jane asked. No one replied.
I typed:

send Matt on a solo adventure maybe?

Saved it, closed the MBP and went back to work happier.
Rural living… sort of
Driving home, I take the small dirt road near my house and am almost back home when I see a car coming. I look for a good place to pull over a bit and as I pull over (AS I PULL OVER) the other car’s directionals come on indicating they’re going to pull into the driveway I just passed. As the car comes toward me (mind you I wouldn’t have been able to PASS that car) the car stops alongside and rolls down his window and the driver (the resident of the driveway I just passed) yells at me that he turned on his directional to tell me he was turning left and despite that I pulled over and left tire tracks on his newly mowed “apron”. Yes he called it his apron. Newly mown. Got it. Like no one ever has to set a tire on that to let another car pass.
Gee thanks for the neighborly greeting. Next time I’ll just side swipe you. Or… I’ll just pull into your driveway. Got it.

Queen’s Jubilee Rock Concert and Fireworks
First off, I really enjoyed the televised concert even if it make me ponder the aging generation of rockers like Elton and Paul. But! I totally dug Kylie Minogue’s pearly inspired costume and the music and the response of the crowds.
Mostly I was blown away by the huge fireworks display at the end and how carefully carefully crafted they were to show all kinds of crowns sprouting from the room of Buckingham palace.
The first inkling I had of this was just simple lines of white light criss-crossing and making pointy peaks above the roof. Whoa, I thought – rather simple… I waited for the lines to blossom into something else. Nothing. Hmmm. Wait – the lines kept repeating the same path over and over again and it looks… like…. a crown!
All different kinds of crowns.
Totally brilliant. Well-done.
