Lunchtime, that means #haiku!

Looking for friendship:
remaining in your own house
thinking of the sky.

In the still morning
a young cat stretches and yawns
the old cat reflects.

Returning from the store
I put away groceries
and start my dinner.

Dinner made, eaten
the evening turns to darkness
the house quiets.

Take two bits of advice and get on with it.

OK I can’t justify the cost of the “Take this Job and Love it” seminar but I am enjoying James Victore’s Tuesday Q&A videos (small amount of profanity – so don’t say your tender ears weren’t warned). These two were especially good – a two part series on Inspiration:

And it turns out that in his episode on Fearlessness, it’s all about finding out what YOU are all about, not emulating someone else’s approach. (although he agrees with me that if you’re really in a spot, assuming the mantle of some hero, real or fictional, will be enough to get you through it.)

Something something to listen to

Treated myself to a bit of new stuff to listen to. Since Swell Season is not recording together, I got their solo stuff.

Glen Hansard has a new solo album out, Rhythm and Repose. The man is nothing if not full of angst and anguish. I think the cover art is rather van gogh-esque. All I’m saying.

Then, Marketa Irglova had a solo release, Anar, last year. Very much in her style too. I thought it interesting that the notes about Anar said “Irglova’s solo music brings to mind the piano-centered songs of early Joni Mitchell and Sandy Denny, with a bit of Enya’s studio atmospherics.” I don’t know about the last but certainly agree with the rest.

Neither came with any semblance of liner notes so it’s just you and the music.

#justsayin #haiku

trying to help more,
I tried some multi-tasking
just doesn’t work out.

At the end of day
after helping the many,
I just want silence.

Wednesday? Can I get some orientation please?

So confused by having days off and an extra day and a night time meeting etc etc. Go ahead, you can think it: doesn’t take much.

In the plus column I did get past the halfway mark of getting the new quilt sewn together in the other direction yesterday and did a couple more rows last night. That should go along pretty smoothly for awhile.

I have found audio books work pretty well while I’m doing repetitive stuff like sewing many seams so I’m on section 9 of 10 in the King Arthur story.

Did remember that it was trash night last night so that should count in my favor too.

And I did remember to go to work at the appropriate time although it’s been rough going ever since I got in. Still counts though.
