Man, shop vac, walking.
Man holds beverage in glass
and tugs at vac hose.
Late day light caught him:
man walking shop vac down street,
drink in hand, shining.

I had just turned the second corner when I had to stop for dinner. Not only had I sewn up to and around the first corner but I had gone across the top and sewn down the bottom edge of the top sleeve.
“I am Invisible Man the first!”
I was concerned about this since there was less than an hour of the Invisible Man left to tell. But, as often happens when the subject goes off his rocker, once madness sets in the end is not too far off.
Although it may be said that someone in my neighborhood yelled a rather vulgar yell out a window earlier at the idiot who insists on revving his car engine and spinning his tires on “taking off” from the house next to mine earlier today, no such expletive was heard when a man was seen holding a glass full of beverage in one hand and the hose of a trailing large orange shop vac in the other and walking down the same street.
August, I thank you
for this most exquisite day
perfect in all ways.
I need the moment
talk over a cuppa joe
a small place to start
thinking of my life
I need to start out smaller;
be less black or white.
salty and sweetness
creaminess and crunchiness
makings of goodness.
invisible man:
being supernatural
or man of science?
I was off today with the purpose of going to an engagement party for Holly and Rich up in Clifton Park. Yesterday the weather forecast seemed mighty iffy but today proved out to be one of the best days of the summer – perfect temperature, light breezes, blue sky with big puffy clouds. Lovely.
Had a nice visit with them and did some catching up. And for perhaps the first and only time in my entire life I was the holder of a crucial bit of information that made a bit of group-puzzling make sense. I wanted to do a happy dance but I didn’t. I was way too cool for that, friends.
Made a surprise swing in to visit the parental units on the way home. Now here I am.
I’m listening to The Invisible Man by H.G. Wells and it is totally not any movie version you or I have ever seen. It’s downright incredible and creepy. It’s told from an interesting point of view. Chapter eight opened with “This will be a short chapter…” – a little nudge nudge wink wink between author and reader?
Now I’m sitting here, albeit typing on the keyboard, trying to get into the swing of hand-sewing.
OK back to it. Maybe a few haiku first, just to keep it going.
On the whole, the modern palette is the same as the one used by the artists of Pompeii… I mean it has not been enriched. The ancients used earths, ochres, and ivory-black – you can do anything with that palette.
