I was off today with the purpose of going to an engagement party for Holly and Rich up in Clifton Park. Yesterday the weather forecast seemed mighty iffy but today proved out to be one of the best days of the summer – perfect temperature, light breezes, blue sky with big puffy clouds. Lovely.
Had a nice visit with them and did some catching up. And for perhaps the first and only time in my entire life I was the holder of a crucial bit of information that made a bit of group-puzzling make sense. I wanted to do a happy dance but I didn’t. I was way too cool for that, friends.
Made a surprise swing in to visit the parental units on the way home. Now here I am.
I’m listening to The Invisible Man by H.G. Wells and it is totally not any movie version you or I have ever seen. It’s downright incredible and creepy. It’s told from an interesting point of view. Chapter eight opened with “This will be a short chapter…” – a little nudge nudge wink wink between author and reader?
Now I’m sitting here, albeit typing on the keyboard, trying to get into the swing of hand-sewing.
OK back to it. Maybe a few haiku first, just to keep it going.
