All human accomplishment has the same origin, identically. Imagination is a force of nature. Is this not enough to make a person full of ecstasy? Imagination, imagination, imagination. It converts to actual. It sustains, it alters, it redeems! — Saul Bellow

That Feel Good Music
There was a discussion about music that makes you feel good because of this, posted to facebook:
The post I saw commented, “And it doesn’t hurt to sing along too!”
I mentioned in passing this along that I have a playlist called “Feel Good Music” which usually does the trick for me and it’s all about singing along. Maybe I let Lucia Popp carry her own beautiful tune while I sit back and enjoy but most of them I sing along like I own them. They’re not all one hundred percent cheerful songs either but that doesn’t seem to matter for this purpose. I think it’s the singing out loud that does the trick. The list gets edited from time to time so the PDF is current for today. Sometimes I find myself blipping over the same couple songs (this playlist is always played on random shuffle!). The bulk of it stays pretty constant though, for whatever reason.
So what’s on your go-to music playlist?
First Peony of the Year
The perils of weeding
For years I’ve tried to get two plants into my garden: baptisia or indigo and Amsonia or blue star. The baptisia has very distinctive pea-like foliage.
Imagine my surprise yesterday when I saw a stand of Amsonia blooming in my front garden, hugging a previous planting of baptisia. Then I realized, the leaves look just like the weed that dominates all my gardens which I pull by the basket full.
Time to dig up the whole thing maybe.
