The perils of weeding

For years I’ve tried to get two plants into my garden: baptisia or indigo and Amsonia or blue star. The baptisia has very distinctive pea-like foliage.

Imagine my surprise yesterday when I saw a stand of Amsonia blooming in my front garden, hugging a previous planting of baptisia. Then I realized, the leaves look just like the weed that dominates all my gardens which I pull by the basket full.

Time to dig up the whole thing maybe.
