Icelandic longings
to visit the cold and bright
dreaming northern lights

in long winter dreams
Iceland awaits with hot pools,
northern lights, and snow

dreaming of Iceland
arriving in Reykjavík
clad in auroras.

Words for the quote box

Forget all rules, forget all restrictions, as to taste, as to what ought to be said, write for the pleasure of it. — William Carlos William

Day 9 – NaPoWriMo

I thought I would write tonight about a hero… but when I re-read the haiku from earlier there seemed to be more on the theme.

WTH?

Hell or high water
hell on wheels
hell in a handbasket
to hell and back again
hell hath no fury
the road to hell paved
with good intentions
hellacious babe
give ’em hell
catch hell
all hell broke loose
hell’s bells
hell-bent for leather
raising hell
for the hell of it
snowball’s chance in hell
til hell freezes over
What the hell
pass me that drink.

H – NaPoWriMo

H is for…

Hell or high water:
One measure of everything
you need to get done.

If things block your path
use: come hell or high water
to do your to-do’s

How high the water?
Is Satan nipping at you?
Better buckle down.

G – NaPoWriMo

The ground, pushing up,
pushes me up and again
out of my own way.

The ground, seizing me;
The power of the still earth
pushes me aside.

The powerful earth
pushing its power upward
through my own two soles.
