That Ah Ha Moment

I think my “Summer with Vincent” has paid off in one of life’s big Ah HA! moments and I am grateful, very grateful for that. Going off now to start making that ah HA moment a reality.

Incoming postcards

Got these two beauties today in the mail and one of them made me laugh pretty hard right in the middle of the driveway – before – I flipped it over to look at the front! Good work both of you and thanks.

Also got a postcard from Patagonia but the verbage, while compelling, wasn’t as inspiring.

This morning a helicopter flew down my street less than 50 feet up. I heard this sound coming and couldn’t imagine what was headed my way. Eeks. Probably checking the natural gas pipeline that crosses the road not too far away but still. That was above (thankfully) and beyond.

Sunday in August

Got up relatively early and headed out to the grocery store, powered by coffee. I avoided the produce area, knowing I would stop at Kristy’s barn and get better veggies. Over my lunches of last week I ate a whole head of leaf lettuce from there and the last bit was just as good as the first (thanks in part to my sterlite snap-top big box that I use to hold leaf lettuce).

Above is a similar box to mine although mine is a bit bigger and has the red gasket shown below and no steam vent. Below is the compartment-style box I use to bring my lunch to work

how I spent part of my day today:

Two Postcard Day

There were two postcards in my mailbox (almost said inbox) this morning, which brings my total to eight and which made me feel more hopeful about the rest of the month. So thank you Ginny and Linda for your fine cards and wonderful poems!

Mom and I went out to a local restaurant/bar to hear my cousin Joe and one of his bands, Band of Gold perform. Really enjoyed their set, had a good dinner and a nice IPA and now I’m home relaxing. Don’t really have any words or ideas in my head for outgoing poems but hey, tomorrow’s Sunday and there’s no mail pickup to beat!

Today’s Mail

Thanks to Celeste, my sixth postcard was in the mailbox this morning. My outgoing one that went off this morning was marked for day #14. Celeste’s was marked #68, so she’s doing some extra I think! And as a bonus, before I flipped it over for her good words, I got to say, “ah, Andrew Wyeth.”
