Incoming amazingly spot-on postcard!

How about this for a great coincidence? Maybe the sender keeps up with my blog but the postcard image is one of four VanGogh’s currently at the Met in a special exhibit and the words on the back fit into my whole “summer of VanGogh” that I mentioned recently. Well done and thanks!

Lovely view of a small work

What an interesting look at a different and small version of a well-known scene. I love her view of the work based on her own experience. This is a great series by the Met, if you’re not already following along at home.

Miscellaneous News for a Tuesday

Not sure why it matters exactly but I keep having to remind myself that it’s Tuesday. Today two more postcards in the mailbox (in the pouring rain!) and a new lunch array.

Thank you postcard senders! This brings the total to twelve, at least two of which were sent by folks not on my part of the list.

It is a rather rainy day here in the upstate NY area but we could use it.

The missing half of the bridge I travel over every day has been replaced with a new half that we can drive over now while they take off the other half and rebuild it. I’m sure this all makes sense in a DOT kind of way, and I guess, like driving over half a bridge, there’s a certain amount of trust that’s involved in how they’ll connect the two lanes when they’re done.

From the Quote Box

Any fact facing us is not as important as our attitude toward it, for that determines our success or failure. The way you think about a fact may defeat you before you ever do anything about it. You are overcome by the fact because you think you are. — Norman Vincent Peale
