Badass Laziness = Brilliant Breakfast

I’ve done this for a long long time because that’s how lazy I am: I tear up the toast into the bowl, dump the coddled/poached eggs on top and pour the little bit of butter in the cooking pan over the toast.

PS I’m still fiddling with the WP plugin that lets me post from here (the self-hosted, wordpress.org side of things) to my long-languishing wp.com blog. Mainly the wp.com site is so I can see how that works and so I guess it’s still doing its job. My tendency to laziness is apparent here too since I feel what I write once should get auto-broadcast to a bunch of places. The plugin has some quirks though and I’m undecided if it’s worth letting it run. If I have to fiddle with the wp.com post every time… nope.

Stash

I have a stash. You have a stash.

And then there’s – stash.

Sometimes when working gets to be a drag I go and fondle my stash and remind myself: this is why I work.

Wednesday, Some Late Thoughts

I’ve been watching the videos from James Patterson’s Masterclass. You might have seen the ads for it whizzing around everywhere you look, like Facebook and the like. I don’t think I’ve read anything by him but I was willing to listen to his ideas and thoughts. Each class has a video and a PDF with things to do and there’s a course guide with more information.

I believe you can always learn something from someone and the price was pretty low in the range of courses online and otherwise.

So far so good. I’m giving it a thumbs up! Although I’d say I fall heavily into the “pantser” school of writing his description of how he outlines and why made sense to me. Up til now I just couldn’t see spending a lot of time doing that. Sometimes I do sketch out a short list of planned scenes and actions if I’m having a problem getting to the next thing. Just bullet points. I’m not sure if I’ll try it in the future but at least I understand a way to do it. I didn’t get it before. I also got some valuable ideas to think about for characters.

So, onward and upwards!

Testing Plug Ins

Yup, just a test, nothing to see here, except perhaps on my wordpress.com version of this.

The Stars are Caught in the Tops of the Trees

Sometimes it just falls out of the trees (not usually LOL). Not bad for a first pass

The stars are caught in the tops of the trees
and the winds try to shake them all free
Go on, the wind cries, fly away bye and bye
but the trees hold their hands in the dark dark sky

the wind is dancing tonight with the trees
and the stars are shimmering along with the breeze
Do a twirl calls the wind, feel the beat of the night
and the stars tap their feet as the clouds all take flight

When the stars are caught in the tops of the trees
and the winds try to shake them all free
are the trees caught too in the web of the sky
has the wind taken hold so the stars cannot fly

the night it is dark and the wind it is sly
but the trees hold the stars in the dark dark sky
the trees hold the stars in the sky.
The trees hold the stars in the dark of the sky
and the wind kisses them both on the sly.
