I wanted to post the presence of the Quilt National Quilts in Berea KY to SAQA – Studio Art Quilters Association, a quilt group I belong to. Somehow in the process of doing that I included the English Country Dance email list in my email. I got an email that the ECD list owner was going to review my email and either email me or post it, so I figured that was the end of it – no harm.
I got an email of congrats from someone on that list and then a request from someone I know there asking for photos. Surprised the email had been sent through I sent along a link to the full and detail images of Solveig. I know the gentleman is on the far left coast but he does some travelling around to teach and call dancing.
Awhile later I got the nicest email with a big Wow and a very brief but most excellent critique/commenting on my quilt. Knocked my socks off actually. A list of five points as to what he liked about it, things he found in it design-wise, a few things about the design and about the construction. I knew he’d really looked and thought about it and responded.
As creators of art – just doesn’t get much better than that. Seriously. I thanked him and I want to thank everyone who takes the time to consider and ponder and maybe even talk to the makers of art. We do love it.
Now that was very nice.
