Today it was back to work. I planned to do writing at lunch. I got ready and found – no wallet. I knew I’d had it when I stopped for coffee on the way to work so 99% sure it was in the car. Went out to the car and there it was but that was a chunk of time so I went to Starbucks and got a coffee and packaged lunch and sat down to use the little bit of time I had left.
Opened up the NaNoWriMo, read the last paragraph and started typing. And laughing. Yes that’s right. There I was, sitting in the window of Starbucks laughing out loud because of the silliness in the words that I’d put onto the screen. Poor Matt the male protagonist. Protagonist is not a word I use to think of him but you know. Being able to laugh at an event that’s going to change the course of things is good.
So, I didn’t write for as long as I’d hoped but… there’s a great quote from a Pat and Mike a classic Hepburn/Tracy movie: “Not much meat on her, but what’s there is cherce.” That’s how I felt about that shortened lunch hour.
