Sacred Threads

Mom and I made it home after a thoroughly enjoyable trip to Sacred Threads. We might not be the best tourists in terms of planning our time and what to do in our spare moments but we always enjoy the adventure. We both dumped our photos into mobileme galleries:

This is the sort of show where the statements are very important. I would have liked to have the statements in booklet form so I could carry them around, make notes and read at my leisure. The quilts were so wonderful and the words added a lot to the whole experience. Everyone I saw at the show was spending a lot of time reading and viewing the quilts and thinking about them.

Both days that we were there we met quite a number of people from the Anglican church where the show was held and from the local area. They were so impressed and touched and excited by the individual quilts and by the show itself. They kept thanking us for sharing our quilts.

Thanks to the committee of fine folks who brought Sacred Threads 2011 to Virginia and to everyone who participated. Mom and I really enjoyed the whole show and were so glad we came down to see it.

More on this after I catch up on some sleep!

  2. Thanks for posting these! I couldn’t make the reception or the show and my piece was in it. So I got to see it hanging through your pictures! I feel honored to have my piece included amongst the others you have photographed. Congratulations to you as well for having a piece accepted into the show!

I always wonder what a show is like overall so I try to take photos that show what the building and display was like. Are you getting the cd of the show?
