It’s Tuesday, so it must be snowing!

yeah yeah yeah another epic-proportioned blizzard. Been there, done that, shoveled it and shoveled it again. I’m not sure where I will put any more snow. I’ll probably end up having to hang my car somewhere so I can shovel out the driveway in order to pull into the driveway.

Last night on the way home I felt some compulsion to stop and “stock up” in prep for the Big Storm. What to get though? I had milk and half and half, had makings for red sauce, had bread and ability to make yeasted doughs of just about any kind. Hmmmm. I finally settled on: a bottle of chianti and one of red port, a hunk of beef for soup making (which the chianti will help with), a back up piece of cheddar and kitty litter. Ain’t that exciting?

Yeah I knew you’d approve.

So tonight, whenever I get into my house, I’ll crank up the stock pot and brown the meat, throw in the veggies, the herbs, the broth and seasonings and sit back and wait. Maybe I could make a poolish tonight for ciabatta tomorrow… Maybe I should put together a pizza dough biga just in case. If I do all these things I could easily sit back and figure out something to do while waiting for spring…

I could read one of my new books. I could catch up on silliness. I could nap or snuggle with napping cats. I could … sew!
