NaPoWriMo 2026, Day 8

Not quite on prompt, but I did get some repetitive phrases in there:

late day, opening the front door
the door gleams so white, afternoon
the floor is awash with puddles
white pools which fill with three black cats
the door gleams so white, three black cats
they look through the storm door briefly
then collapse here and there, washing
three black cats arranged randomly,
two stretch their bellies to the god
who promises all things warming
yet somehow they don’t overheat
a gray cat walks across the door
two black cats take no notice
her twin sniffs the fine gray whiskers

A black cat sits by an open door, looking out a glass storm door. To left, the cat's shadow shows up on the white door.
