NaPoWriMo 2025 Day 7 (and 5-6)

Warez MB, you might have been asking. Find the answer here. It was a long tiring Day 5 but I came home invigorated but needing a lot of sleep on Day 6.

Day 5:

Hurtling bus

Predawn gathering
Empty parking lot fills up
Angry citizens

Bus flies down highway
Sleeping, chattering riders
The sky lightens

Long time between votes
Days filled with protests and calls
Endlessly ignored

Day seven:

first these, weather-related

cold air slides over
dropping down a variable load
now snow and now rain

right at freezing point
the water drops hang on twigs
rain drops might be snow

and then these, sort of related to the prompt:

inside this paintbox
the colors ready to go
big brush hovering

while I look at light
and consider value and
what my focus is

the paper is waiting
the paint blobs absorb water
I absorb the scene

Photo: watercolor painting of a cat crouched on table with tail extending behind, looking out window. although it's really a black cat his fur was seen as dark gray and light. To the left of the horizontal painting is the watercolor paintbox, vertical in the scene, with areas of color around the edge and two mixing areas in the middle. Above, an array of brushes in a black roll up holder point down at the painting.
