Blech

Fixing little silk strips… Nasty stuff.

Happenstance gave me an opening to steal this from Ann E. Ruthsdottir’s email signature line:

Stubbornly persist, and you will find that the limits of your stubbornness go well beyond the stubbornness of your limits. — Robert Brault

National Poetry Day #6

Choices of prompts today were interesting – Ekphrastic poetry inspired by another medium including music (as suggested for today’s poem) or of spring and flowers (with wonderful Iris photos for inspiration). I let it simmer all day. Then I listened to music on the way home.

===============================

Allegretto

The arc
five seven nine
and in the middle
the poise
the poised
the step
the hoofbeat
the heartbeat
the moment of not quite
holding your breath
the moment of
lips approaching
fingers touching
the moment
portending greatness
unleashing freedom
karmic resolution
that moment bringing
hope unspoken
speaking of joy to come.

Haikus R Us

The haikus were zinging all over the place including another from my Chuck Norris Haiku contributor Nick. I may have to open a branch office over at chucknorrishaiku.com to accommodate all these wonderful haikus coming to me by mail and twitter and facebook.

Here’s Nick’s latest entry:

Chuck Norris. God’s Plan
He is a legend to man
Too bad he’s not real.

More later. I’m still pondering today’s choice of prompts.

In other news, I’m now a certified Appreciator of Clouds:

Brown Envelope with interesting stamps and messages

Today’s haiku from Mountain Poet, aka Granny Sue, really nailed it – good job!

A small black kitten
Curls around my feet and legs
Soft head, ears, eyes, purr.

Some breaks to jot down haiku. Waiting for tomorrow’s prompts. Wishing I could turn off part of my brain. Wishing I could stay up later tonight.
