This photo prompt from Not Without Poetry has to be one of the best things I’ve ever seen. I admit that early in my day’s caffeination, I was a little confused by what seemed to be a long tail for the bear. My pal Ashley at work helped me know it was indeed his leg and paw. Phew. Another angst-filled crisis averted!

Oh bear, dearest bear
I was dreamingof a cave
of a cave and
someone nuzzling my ear.who came to my cave
and stroked my ears
with long furless fingers?I dreamt I was wrapped
in long loving arms.
I heard two hearts singing.one high one low
I dreamt my love
pulled magic from the world
to save meand you were saved?
I was saved.
my heart set beating.
my hand reached out
with laughinglaughing and singing
I felt my love’s magic
I felt his magic draw me in.love sleeps the winter
I did not wish to wake.

and some bonus haiku:
quilts are like children
you apply to send them off
and hope they get in.The gnomes did nothing
to help with my hand sewing
No bonbons for them.
