Turns out the top sleeve was sewn down so — bonus!
First side sewn down and turned the corner onto the bottom sleeve.

From long ago, but I thought it was time to put it in here. Bill died in January 2005.
For Bill, my cat
Each time I sweep I realize
more and more of you
is leaving
hair by hair
mote by mote.
the you that was here
lives here less and lessMore and more of what
is swept up
is the sweepings of others
Less and less
the remainder of you.
more and more
this process fills my head.I have swept out
old boyfriends before
and past occupants before
but today
I look around and see
here you scratched to
make this place yoursWhen others are sweeping
me up and making me
less and less
they no doubt will look
less kindly on those marksPerhaps they will remove
us both altogether
pausing not at all
in their work
until we are only
memories to each other.
Have everything ready to do the final trip all around the edges of 36. While I do like the look of a quilt with facings, I have to say it’s plain out easier to put a binding on. Sleeves are easier with binding too. Just sayin’. I was looking at the pictures of repercussion the other day – it has a dark grey binding and it doesn’t bother me one bit, design wise. Will ponder this for the pile-o-squares waiting to be sewn together.
Other than that things are good. I may need a machete if I don’t mow the lawn soon. Damn rain. Many parts of the country, including north of here are experiencing what I would think of as hundred year rains/flooding. It’s incredible to see and sad to think about the losses of lives in the south and disruption of life and land everywhere.
Nice article in the Troy Record about Peg Frezon and her writing career. Grats Peg!
About 20 inches from the end of hand sewing on primordial. Grateful that The Voice is on tonight.
