Last night, with a bit of a tear, some sighs and a smile or two, I finished The Neverending Story. Such a good read. Yes meant for younger eyes but the story is beautiful and classic and the world is just wondrous. I really was not sure how it would end and was gladdened by the whole march up to the end so it wouldn’t have mattered what the exact details were.
Then I peeked inside If on a winter’s night a traveler home of some of the longest and most wonderful sentences on paper. It was late and I wasn’t very dedicated to making a lot of progress but I did get a bit into it. Stay tuned.
Today? Wash and cooking and more cooking and who knows, maybe a little more wrapping. We’ll see. Right now: another cuppa coffee and looks like the water’s boiling for noodles.
Jane at Thom’s in Nassau has me convinced that the whole uncooked noodles thing will work for lasagna but I’m not about to do that for the pan I’m bringing somewhere. I’ll do that with an extra pan and see how it turns out just to convince myself totally first. I never have problems doing the noodles anyway – very al dente and then stopped cooking in cold water. But it would speed up the process if it works. I guess stay tuned for that too. Jane says they make their own lasagna that way for the restaurant so I am going to try it, based on that. Their lasagna is good (not as good as mine but mainly because I like my sauce better.)
