#NaPoWriMo Day 2

Welcome back to National Poetry Writing Month, Day Two. The folks of the NaPoWriMo universe made this a busy place yesterday! I enjoyed your company and comments and it was fun visiting some new blogs to see what’s going on in some other corners of the web-world.

Whisper

I walk the edge of your shelf
I wave away the dust
I push the errant tome
I see that you’ve been
re-reading that favorite.

I hop to the window
The sill is cold
I polish the pane
to let in the moon’s light
I sit and sip the offered cup
a thimbleful really.

I knew your mother long ago
and see her moving in you
I say a hope that your love
will land on the man
you’ll first meet tomorrow.
I whisper to you
He is the one.
He is ready to love you.

Welcome NaPoWriMo Visitors!

It’s so lovely to have some new visitors here today, especially coming from NaPoWriMo Headquarter’s link to my first poem of the month.

April 1 PS

It was a perfect day for opening day of trout season. There were many cars parked along Rt 20 near the Kinderhook Creek. Enough water, no snow, not too hot, not too windy. Those fishermen must have paid someone off.

Slightly grey but no worries

the day might not be bright and sunny but the world is spinning along just fine. I’m going to put away a few things, have a cup of coffee and see what I can get into. I confess that I had a really funny thought of something that should give my NaNoWriMo book a little plot nudge. It made me laugh and the iphone dictation version was funny too (but will serve to remind me of the concept!)

The cats have been at the cat cam window watching the rain and whatever else goes by.

I found an interesting place that wants to encourage random individuals to write poetry: The Found Poetry Project

I went to sleep just before Poetry month started but did resolve to try and stick with an over-arching theme that I will try not to reveal until the end. Ha! you thought I’d just blab it out, didn’t you.

The First of NaPoWriMo

The Eve of April

Here on the eve of April
I sweep the path to your door.
All is quiet within.
In the mid-night
the stars call and
swing across the answering sky.

After dreams, tomorrow waits.
I’ve strewn white petals
on the stone walk.
The world lies ready.
