Good news!

OK, good news sports fans… I mean blog readers!

Sticking up all the little squares on the wall, I find myself with a little pile of left overs on the table. I guess my math is better than my counting skills.

Whatever. There are currently 27 rows of 11 squares, which is a total of 297 squares. That’s quite a few more than I thought I had done and there are probably 20 left over, mostly light in value.

So now a few days of looking at it while sticking up the brown border squares.

Oops #haiku that tried to escape

One from this morning:

Fountain pen scratching
Black marks tattoo the paper
A stream of thinking.

And a last one from tonight:

Writing new life goals:
More watermelon, laugh more,
Achieve badass-dom.

I break for #haiku

a pause for haiku
pleasant time of evening
quieting my mind.

Do the work, all say
and say again and again
until someone hears.

the news, the crime shows
nothing my brain needs to know
I turn the channel.

the single blue sky
that arches over the earth
belongs to us all.

The pressure of work

It is always the case that the act of working makes it easier to work and to keep working. It was a slow day and all I could think of was how much I could be getting done at home. At least it made me get going once I got home.

Perhaps this would be a good time to thank the people who completely changed the amount of time I had to work on the previous quilt making me extra ready to make the quilt *I* had in mind and having a few extra months to work on it. Ummm, thank you. Yeah.

From now on, only my own ideas and on my own deadlines. That’s it.
