Sage Advice – For the Quote Box

If you have to stand on your head to make somebody happy, all you can expect is a big headache. — Ilene Beckerman

Ain’t that the truth?

From the Quote Box

If we listened to our intellect, we’d never have a love affair. We’d never have a friendship. We’d never go into business, because we’d be cynical. Well, that’s nonsense. You’ve got to jump off cliffs all the time and build your wings on the way down. — Ray Bradbury

Quiet Friday

Someone forgot to charge the laptop last night before collapsing into bed, so it turned out lunch was all about eating today. It’s been a weird week but there you go.

  • The light tonight during the drive home was very hudson river painter-ish. One of the reasons I like living in this corner of the world.
  • I downloaded a little font collection from the App store for 99¢ and each one was demo’d using “The Answer to LIFE is 42”
  • Found out the reason that there’s never any deposit envelopes at the ATM is because you let the machine suck them in after you sign them and then the receipt gives you a scanned image of it. The ATM even reads the amount of the check. How cool is that? Ah technology.
  • I need a cool beverage.

#haiku born of commute

The day started off
My fist banging on a door
to demand quiet.

The day went onward
Some questions went unanswered
Some were just ignored.

The numbers, you see,
aren’t the end goal of it all
but just the measure.
