From the Quote Box:

it’s a keeper:

A work of art rests its merits in traditional qualities. It may constitute a remarkable feat in craftsmanship; it may be a searching study of psychological states; it may be a nostalgic glance backward; it may be any one of an infinite number of concepts, none of which may have any possible bearing upon its degree of newness. — Ben Shahn

Book of Taliesin
tales told for so many years
the great bard of Wales.

Oh the things you find while rummaging!

I cleaned off a shelf near my sewing machine (and put my thread boxes up there, we’ll see how that works out) and found a bunch of archeological and interesting things.

First up, this, from a Miss Piggy statue that used to live in the front garden many many years ago.

The Eye

And then this: one of the best pencil boxes ever. Ever.

spam spam spam bacon and spam

I thought this was interesting – one of the reasons why I like WordPress is how valiantly they fight the good fight against spam. It’s very rare for me to be asked to decide: is this spam or not? Last night I paged through all the spam that was currently awaiting the aging process before it was pushed into digital oblivion. Then I hit the select all button and deleted it myself. Some of the individual spam posts were immense and rambling pieces about economics which I find amusing in itself.

But there you go. This one ain’t got much spam in it…
