New sinuses, table four please!

Yesterday I got blindsided by something that put my sinuses into overdrive. Mainly the left side. I was driving along home after doing this documentation stuff for the seasonal palette thing and seeing the folks and then BLAM! total congestion and sneezing and bleah.

Came home and took a claratin, because it felt rather allergy-like but who knew? So here’s a shred of wisdom if you need something good of all this: if you aren’t sure, take a SHORT term drug not a 24 hour one. That way you don’t have to wait forever to take something else. LOL. Let me be the guinea pig on your behalf. You don’t need to thank me.

When it finally started wearing off this afternoon, it was serious sneezing time. Now my brain feels better but my throat is dying and my nose is running. **back of hand to brow, “no no, I’ll be all right… I’ll be fine”…**

Night time #haiku

When the world pulls
the soft sky ’round her shoulders
and watches the stars.

When the stars sing out
and clouds mute the universe
so we may partake.

the pale furrowed clouds
all velvety corderoy
thrumming the broad sky.

My day, not really as planned

I had a thought last night that I should have already sent in the documentation for the Seasonal Palette quilt thing and indeed that was true. thanks all for the timely reminders, LOL. So I pulled all this stuff from my blog, threw them into a table in Pages, threw in some photos, made a cover sort of thing. Re-read the thing and realized the binder they’re using is 11×14 so I reformatted everything (no big deal) and then I did the smart thing and threw it onto a USB drive and let Staples print it. Now I just have to trim it down to size (they only use 11 X 17 paper), stick it in an envelope and make it go away.

While I was there of course there were other things calling me. I knew I didn’t have anything to mail 11×14″ anything in. Right along side that was a small package of fold-your-own boxes that are just right for 8.5 x 11 paper! How perfect is that for organizing notes and hand outs and such? They’re plain white boxes. As I was returning to the copy counter I spotted a really cool little kids backpack on sale. Sorry little kids. Mine now.

Stopped at my folks which means I picked up the book I need to start the online class in a couple weeks: Household Stories by the Brothers Grimm. I flipped it open to Snow White and allowed as how none of the many current film version end anything like the real tale, so we had a brief read aloud of the end. Properly horrifying it is, but a satisfying end to the wicked step-mother.

My other part of the Dover shipment was: The Fairy-Faith in Celtic Countries by W.Y. Evans-Wentz. Yeah I’ve gone over the edge.

Tired ol’ cat

you know the lives of cats are very difficult. Seriously…

Apparently Archie was so bored with the notion of me out there mowing the front yard that he couldn’t bear it. He hopped down right after this and Miss Molly jumped up to supervise.
