Hot (Fudge) Sunday

I rather melted into bed last night, rung out from the day and the heat and the inability of anything to hold my interest. I managed to finish and upload my course essay.

Today when I awoke, the heat was already thick and heavy. If I had more motivation I’d head out looking for some air-conditioned culture but instead I packed an insulated bag with frozen water bottle, cold beverage and headed upstairs. I suppose I could fiddle with the quilt edges but instead I might just poke around and listen to the beginning of Frankenstein.

#haiku on a hot night

threw rock into puddle
watched the ripples push the edge
stirring up bottom.

Alice big and small
grow up shrink down be adult
even if just a girl

Disappearing smile
the mysterious cat grins
there, then gone again.

Tweedle dee and dum
three dittos and a long verse
of cabbages and kings

I think kids these days call threads like “I’m going to drop this course because…” or “I’m leaving because …” “Flouncing“. ;)
