Back in February, I hoped to get 50 posts a month for 2012 which would have brought me to 600 for the year. Apparently 2012 is the year of blogging over-achievement or something because this is post 600 for the year. That’s cool. Not all big posts, or important posts but a lot of good posts, haiku etc. I’m good with it.
Time to recalibrate I guess. If I stick with the fifty posts a month idea for the rest of the year, that’s roughly 225 more.
Good thing I’m better at figuring out how many little squares I need for a quilt than projecting blog posts!
Sleeves on, binding on: guess there’s nothing left to do but to queue up the next audio book and get to work.
After some consideration, I went with the same fabric I’d used for the binding as the sleeve. First off, it had some weird hunks already cut out of it and there wasn’t all that much left. I was able to cut what I needed out of the part with the big slant which made me feel virtuous. I needed to add just a couple inches to each sleeve and was able to get the added bits out of the even weirder shaped pieces. Then, just to allow myself an even more virtuous, **insert term of choice here** moment, I added the extra bits on with flat-felled french seams and basted them down to the top and bottom of the quilt. Term? Somewhere between pompous/narcissistic and calm/confident in skills, LOL.
Anyway, it’s lying on the table ready to start sewing. Guess I better do up the label while I’m at the computer. Then it will be a quick break to get that attached midway through the bottom sleeve sewing.
Time for some dinner now.
PS this is post five hundred and ninety-nine. I’ll try to think of something reasonably exciting for six hundred.
Two things I must do today:
What I’ve done so far: rummaged a bit behind the scenes in this blog to find posts about “why I blog”. I have a “rule” that says when I see that someone else has read an early, untitled blog post or when I encounter one, I have to add a title to it. So I added quite a few titles today. I also realized that something must be done about all the photos that were formerly stored on mobileme and linked here. If I can figure out a way to do that in stealth geek-wise, I will. Bear with me please.
