I go down the stairs
to take the clean clothes still warm
back upstairs again.
the drawers are refilled
with clothes ready to be loved,
those I wear often.
cats, given a chance
would burrow in the basket
more warmth their birthright.

Small plate of dinner
thinking of poems everywhere
world poetry day
world poetry day
your rhythm, my words, dancing,
written and spoken
Somewhere on the earth
someone writing, typing, saying
world poetry day
words more so than paint •
are easily rearranged •
at least in theory.
delete and delete
or rub off and rub off more
the work of art
to leave what is best
the gold smelted from the base
to shine in your eyes.
Quilting, seam ripper
Writing, editing, delete
Painting, more paint, buff
come sit beside me
we’ll recite our favorites
and sing our own songs
clouds in sunny skies
bringing joy to the blueness
and today, no snow.
I took a moment to add a new quote this morning and then geeked out, GREP’d the text file to mush it into tab-delimited stuff and crammed it into a little database. Whew. This allowed me to easily fix some problems that pop up over there in the side bar from time to time. It also reveals that there were only a couple duplicates and without those the quote box stands holding 1717 quotes.
I think I’ll work at gathering some more!
