Warez the poemz, MB?

My car had a dealer appointment this morning to get its clock problem fixed. It has steadily lost time on the clock since day one and I’ve asked about it regularly. The answer was always “we don’t have a fix for that yet” until this past time. Then I was told that the “fix” was to replace the whole display console. Seems extreme for what was probably a capacitor problem but ok. So today I dropped it off and they did their thing at no cost to me.

Meanwhile, Mom came and got me at the dealership and I went to their house to do fun stuff like update their iMac’s operating system, update some software and cook dinner. We enjoyed a lovely dinner of boneless lamb, parsnips and carrots with strawberries for dessert. Now my brain won’t be wondering what is going on with that iMac because of it being the older OS (what’s the screen look like again?) and as a bonus, they’ll be able to do iMessaging on the iMac. That’s kind of cool because many of the rest of us have iPhones now.

Anyway, I took advantage of having made a bootable flashdrive with the OS installer which made the whole thing take about 20 minutes start to finish. Small geek moment there.

Now I’m home and better buckle down and figure out today’s NaPoWriMo prompts and get on the ball!

The power of the interwebs

Scribe of St. Gall

Also in the quote box:

He who does not know how to write imagines it to be no labour, but although these fingers only hold the pen, the whole body grows weary. – Scribe of St. Gall

This used to hang over the drafting table where I did hours of calligraphy. I was reminded by it tonight when Neil Gaiman (aka @neilhimself) posted this link about illuminated manuscripts. Love this stuff. He’d asked how long it takes to create one and someone provided the link.

And that folks, is how the internet works on a person to person basis.

Human, Seeking Answers

Bing over Google.
Let me google that for you.
Searching for answers.

Looking for true love.
Looking for all life’s answers.
Nothing on google…

seasons change yearly
life’s mysteries stay murky
we all seek answers.

We read the tea leaves.
Is the answer forty-two?
It certainly is.

Opening the window

Yes, I did open the bedroom window today. I know it’s a little early but I had a mission. A board had come loose so I did a quick fix with a couple screws. Nothing too elegant but it will stay put. No cats ventured out the open window while I was out there working but a couple enjoyed it when I put the screen in and left the window open.’

The weather forecast is saying rain and 40’s so may still be awhile before it stays open.

Olives, from the Olive Bar

This one’s for Cathy Neri and all the folks talking about people who “sample” things. From olive bars, from displays of grapes and other produce… you know them.

Olives

I’m particularly fond of the bright green (more of a blue-ish green rather than olive yellowish green) rounder olives, but I love them all.
