Went home to pick up some clothes, feed the cats etc. Had two stops to make: cat füd and gas for the car. Just before I left Rensselaer a big wave of heavy heavy rain with some big lightning and thunder hit. Once the thunder left, I did too.

Stopped in the rain for the cat füd. Got wet, but I had an umbrella so not too bad. The streets were full of water. Drove in pretty constant heavy rain until the 9&20 split when I got a little ahead of it.

Stopped in Nassau to get gas at Stewart’s. Just a light rain. Go in for a quick coffee to go… downpour. But my car was still by the pump so I only got a little wet.

Heavy rain until the other side of Lord Hill and when I went to turn off 20 onto Brainard Station Road – NO rain. I thought – maybe if I drive fast enough I can get into the house before the rain catches up.

Pull into the driveway and get out of the car. I reached in the back seat to pull out the bag of cat food. Vooomph – downpour. I was drenched. Bumped into the bush alongside the driveway, wet again. I pulled out the umbrella. I juggled everything as I went toward the house, got just about pulled off my feet because the umbrella got caught in the birch tree and was laughing so hard by the time I got to the porch that I could hardly open the door.
