What is going on? Cat edition.

Unless there was a BEAR in my living room, I’d like an explanation as to why all four cats were on defcon 2.5 high alert and growling and yowling. I couldn’t even decide who was an instigator or target. That’s not like them. It was serious business.

After I looked to see that everyone was alive I went out and cut some catnip, scattered it around and left them to their own devices. No one looks anything other than freaked out.

Should be an interesting sleep (or not) tonight.

Monday? What country? What?

Seven days of working is a grind no matter if you have some fun along the way or not.

One of those days I came home with a new iPhone and that’s fun and I keep finding little things about it that are clever. A few things I wish had an off switch but oh well.

I had dinner with Mom after launch on Friday so I missed my traditional dinner at Thom’s in Nassau where everyone meets to eat fish fries and mac and cheese and gets to see the new stuff. So this morning I stopped in and of course everyone wanted to know about the fingerprint stuff so I did a demo. I have three fingers set up so it doesn’t really matter what hand I pick up the phone with, it rather seamlessly opens. After I demo’d setting up a new fingerprint I realized I can delete a finger print if I want to keep on demo’ing that. Three’s probably enough to be practical.

Off to do a little quality time with NaNoWriMo, then lunch with Christine and Joe and then what I’m not sure. Laters!

I thought today would be a good day to wear my Epic Purple Shirt. You know, because it being iPhone launch day. I was totally correct in this. As with any Shirt, it may be worn underneath the rest of your flashy über gear, but you know it’s in there and you just feel good about it. Or, as the Jinx web site says:

I know what you’re thinking, and no, this shirt will not increase your armor rating; it won’t double your mana pool or halve your global cooldown; it won’t give you waterwalking, an anti-magic shell, or a magical goat mount that prances around and says “Haters gonna hate”. No, it’s just a purple shirt. But you know what? It’s freakin’ EPIC!

and PS: an iPhone 5S followed me home from work and I guess I’ll keep it.

Lessons to be learned

I find it fascinating when I learn something new about one of the characters in my book, or when they do something I wasn’t quite expecting. You might think that’s pretty near on impossible since after all, it’s ME that’s writing what they’re doing but I tell you… they seem to know what comes next.

[***]

Skipping right we go around
Skipping left we come back round
The sun comes up, the sun goes down
the moon comes up and joins the night
the stars dance over head and bright
they bless the land with fairest light
We skip together a circle round
we feel the earth, it spins around
the seasons turn a circle round
we dance and sing to praise the land
we circle here, all our joined hands
our circle and its brightness stands.

Full disclosure

Sometimes the numbers are incentive all by themselves (especially if they’re public)
