While an argument could be made that passwords should be changed routinely, the fact that some passwords have never HAD to be changed for whatever reason gives me some reassurance that, at least on some levels, I have clue as to what I’m doing…
On a day like today, where I’m flashing back to Little Brother by Cory Doctorow, I’m a little worried about our computer-based society… and what happens to people without literacy.

Remember. Growth is only possible as a product of history. Without memory, innovation is merely novelty. History gives growth a direction. But a memory is never perfect. Every memory is a degraded or composite image of a previous moment or event. That’s what makes us aware of its quality as a past and not a present. It means that every memory is new, a partial construct different from its source, and, as such, a potential for growth itself.
People without literacy have always existed and most have been marginalized by it, so that hasn’t really changed. I worry about the digital divide between people constantly connected to their digital devices while being in reality disconnected from people around them.
