This morning I was up and out, a veritable heatwave of 10F outside and off to work I went. Mostly clear sky, a few little wisps of clouds.
I appreciate the determination of anyone who plowed through last night’s report on the poetry conversation. My brain is still roaming around on the subject but I hope I conveyed the main points.
A friend of mine at work reports hearing multiple owls last night around her home and we all scratched our heads wondering what would bring this on.
I heard a report on the absolute devastation that the white nose fungal infection is having on bat populations in many areas. Folks are concerned that already endangered species are at risk but truth is that in some areas even common bat species are experiencing 99% losses of local population. That’s hard to imagine and it will be interesting, in a scary kind of way, to see the effect those losses have on insect populations.
On the “getting better” side of things, a man in Mexico is helping reclaim prairie land by reintroducing the prairie dog to areas where it was once hunted by farmers.
Be careful how you wield the power that you have and know whether you wield it for good or evil…
