Day one #NaNoWriMo

well sort of a rough start to Nanowrimo 2012. Had planned to write at lunch but lost a bit of time doing stuff. Came home tonight with good intentions. My overall plan for the month is to continue the story started last year, perhaps restarting it from where the original “end” of the first part of the story seemed to be. The after-November writing which went on for a few months seemed to be more disjointed and the plot a little sketchier. So maybe re-launch that part, that was my plan.

I thought I better re-read the thing though to get refreshed with the characters and things I might have set in play but not gotten to yet.

The good news is that I really enjoyed reading the story again, this time after quite a long time away. The bad news is (I guess) that I liked quite a bit of the story in the second part.

So the question is: ditch it all? chop it up and rejoin it in a different way? start somewhere near the current end?

The sort of bad news is that I didn’t write anything today. But the good news is that I’m probably a lot more prepared to start tomorrow. So meh, 1667 words – I can catch that up no problem. Just as soon as I start.

Tomorrow’s plan – just start somewhere near the end with something that will be an action in the story and I think I have a glimmer of a start.

This is much different than starting last year with a blank page and not a single idea at all about what was going to happen. But I’m good with it.
