I went to look up using the More tag (still haven’t quite figured it out, and I thought I had used it before but apparently not) and found a treasure trove of good advice under, go figure, a help link right on the dashboard page. I’m often asked about how to set up a blog and the questions are many and wide-ranging.
There are lots of things to think about when setting up a web site or blog but it’s not all about the computer and web hosting. What are you really setting out to do? Why, talk to your viewers, that’s what! What are you going to talk about?
I’ll confess that the blogs I read faithfully are those that are all about the writer and their life and work. You have to be mightily informational to get me over to a site feeding links of news, technology and other sites. The blogs that are in my “Other Sites” list aren’t all wildly up to date, in fact there are a few there because I hope the writers will return. They do all share a definite point of view, distinct interests and a parcel of personality.
