Halfway through a closing shift at work. They’re uncommon for me but I was asked if I could switch with a co-worker and it turns out I could, so I did. So this morning I rose and dutifully made coffee and a bit of breakfast and sat down and winged some squares through the machine but it’s always with an eye on the clock if you’re waiting to go to work. I did get a couple three columns sewn, leaving just one more to go on the first third of it.
Just as I was doing the last minute things before going out the door the phone rang and another co-worker was telling me that the patroon bridge was basically just bumper to bumper and very little movement. He and another had been there for awhile. I looked online and couldn’t find anything about it and there hadn’t been any warning signs during the week but 35 min later it was me stuck in the same thing. They basically took four lanes of traffic and made it merge to one. Yeah.
So tonight a very late night and then tomorrow’s an off day. The joys of retail.
