Sunday: helpful cats and helpful stash

Feels a trifle odd being off today. First off when I have sunday off, it’s generally the first day off in awhile and second, when I woke up this morning it appeared as though the power was off. Being a resourceful person and knowing I was off today, I rolled over and went back to sleep.

As I picked up the phone to call National Grid I found out the cats had conspired on my behalf. They had unplugged the powerstrip with the lamp and alarm clock. Ummm good kitties?

All the weather guys yesterday said it would be nice earlier in the day today and then start changing over to rain so I had breakfast and went out and mowed grass. I confess to looking closely at the astroturf underfoot at RPI yesterday… Probably needs hosing down or repainting occasionally. Gotta be a catch there.

Now I’m all glowing and dewy-faced and ready to take on making stacks of brown fabric squares. Although there are a few browns that are too light or busy, as I added lighter ones they looked better all together, so I’m less concerned than I was. I may still look for a few more to throw into the mix.

To be honest, I think it’s the stash’s way of telling me that I should add more things I like. Really? Seems no matter what I decide to use there’s always this moment of panic about not having enough of the chosen color. Turns out that if you’re using a gazillion different fabrics you can get away with a pretty broad range of colors and values in the mix and it comes out just as it should.

Or, aka, that’s my method and I’m sticking to it.
