Day 21 #NaPoWriMo2012

A different kind of format today from NaPoWriMo, a Hay(na)ku. You’ll figure it out.

Wake!
The day
is all shiny!

Sing!
The words
will ring out!

Dance!
Your hand
fits in mine!

Look!
the sky
floats above you!

Rest!
the clouds
soothe your mind!

Praise!
the mother
who made thee

Praise!
the Mother
Who made all!

    Again a great verse.

  2. Daleah says:

Since you seem game for new poetic forms, have you tried the “reverso?” A poem written to make sense with the order of the lines (not the words)reversed. I have a book of them: Mirror, Mirror, a Book of Reversible Verse, by Marilyn Singer in which she tells the familiar folktales twice with the same poem, once from the perspective of one character and again (the same lines in reverse order) telling it from another character’s perspective. Think Beauty and the Beast, Princess and Frog, Sleeping Beauty and Prince Charming, Cinderella and Stepsisters. Delightful and very clever. I know that you can do it!
