World Poetry Day is tomorrow

Last night I had to get up, open two windows and put the furnace into hibernation mode. Seriously? On the night of the Vernal Equinox? That’s just ridiculous. But I did the deeds, climbed back into bed and fell deliciously asleep in the cool night air.

The arrival of the equinox also means that tomorrow is World Poetry Day, leading up to Poetry Month in April. I’m off tomorrow, so you can either feel besieged by haiku or protect yourself with a few of your own. I like that idea of building your own protective shield of haiku (or poetic form of your choice)… either way, you can expect a stream of haiku tomorrow.

Need a peek at how this works? you can see some of last year’s haiku in the link above. Yes, that’s right, there’s a link to haiku in the bar above.

Post what ya got, tweet
as you got ’em, those haiku.
Celebrate the day.

or more formally

Peepers warmed the night
softening the world for words.
Pour out your haiku.
