Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs died today, too young and much admired.

Here’s the 2005 commencement talk he gave

I always remember that he and I shared an early interest: calligraphy. For him, it meant great fonts on our screens and beautiful usable interfaces. For me, beautiful words and that meant also readable and interesting and a dollop of learning about negative space.

From his vision I learned that computers were the tools for modern living and we could learn to like them and use them and maybe even have some fun doing it. I consider that my career mission these days.

Work will be very odd and sad tomorrow.

The world has lost a great person. I loved watching his announcements. They seems so clear and uncomplicated. Thank you for making the world a better place.
