One could say that this is the traditional procrastination phase, but I could make an argument that I spent time today holding up thread colors and drawing on print outs of the quilt-to-be-quilted.
Came down and cooked up the chicken I’d gotten at Hannaford. It was, apparently, not only amateur shrink-wrapping day there, but also perhaps new-butcher-learning-how-to-cut-up-chicken day. LOL the chicken needed a little help with a sharp knife is all I can say, which meant I also got some stock out of the whole procedure. Roast chicken with corn on the cob and a really ripe tomato is not a bad thing. And traditionalist that I may be about some things, cooking corn on the cob in the microwave is one of the best things ever.
Anyway now I’m going back upstairs to make a little sample practice piece and try out a couple things before I actually get around to starting anything for real.
Go ahead you know you can do it. Samples are always good.
Last week John was away all week at guitar camp. My plan was to make lots of progress on a quilt I want to make for him (this fall is our 10th anniversary…) I did a LOT of thinking, playing with fabric, even a bit of sketching on paper, walking awaw, going back to look, etc., some more…but no fabric got cut or sewn. Now that he is back, and I have to clear everything away before he comes home, TODAY I finally started on the fabric! Sometimes there just needs to be that period of preparation before the leap….
