Blog wanderings

First off thanks to Sandra D for the reference to Bill and Dave’s Cocktail Hour blog with this great quote:

The lesson has never really left me: the more you work, the better you work, and the less you yearn for lunch.

Recently Naomi suggested Matt Kish’s blog and that has been fun to go back through too.

One of the best parts of going to new-to-me blogs is that you get to browse someone else’s blogroll and see altogether new things. Score! Like Betsy Learner’s eponymous blog which a short way down the page had this gem

How do you read the kinds of books you’re trying to write: competitively? As a student? A voyeur? A spy in the house of love?

Aren’t we all so guilty of this: Looking at something in our own medium and glossing over the piece itself for the how-to, gleaning, minutiae criticizing, prying bits of information out of it and ignoring the non-making person standing nearby blown away by the piece itself? Yes we are. You can deny it but we all do it LOL.

Anyway nice to have some nice reads and it’s always fun to browse outside of quilting – everyone deals with the same problems no matter what they’re doing and it’s good to hear other ideas.
