I was so glad to get out of work today. Day 7 of 9 in a row of work. Frankly I lost interest a couple days ago, LOL. But I toodled home thinking about packing up Primordial for its trip to Casenovia. Only work to do was really trying to do a final de-fuzzing. Why do I work in black again? There seemed to be more than the normal amount of fuzziness and fur on this one but it shouldn’t take that long to fix it up.
Anyway, got to my street, started turning into my driveway and BLAM this little truck hit me from behind, pushing me four or five feet into my mailbox. The guy was basically freaking out -was I ok? he was so sorry. I called 911 (mostly worried that he would bail on me before I could get his info). Finally got what would have to be enough of his contact info. My neighbor Bernie came over right away – he was sitting on his porch and saw the whole thing. When the guy said he didn’t see any directionals, Bernie said – you still have to be in control of your car. LOL uh huh. The other funny thing the guy said a few times was – how fast could I have been going – I had just turned onto this road from there – pointing at the firehouse road just down the way. After he left, Bernie laughed and said – you can be going a good 50 by the time you get to our houses from there. Very true.
Anyway, not a ding on either car to be seen, so off he went. I cancelled the police call. The guy had called his boss of all people who lives nearby. He suggested a nearby car place if I wanted to have it looked at. The boss and bernie got my poor mailbox straightened up. I pointed out that it was sad to hit it myself after it miraculously surviving all the snowplows all this time.
So that was my excitement for the evening. I’m a little sore from the traditional holding on for dear life. Took a couple motrin for that.
Turning into home
Hit from behind by other
Only mailbox hurt.
Then I talked on the phone awhile before settling down to the task at hand. Defuzzed, got it all packaged up, battled the fed-ex site for labels. Trying to send return labels for them to use, so hopefully that will work!
I had a piece of mail that has to get sent out tomorrow – i know i know – snail mail with an actual check in it – how analog. I put it out in the mailbox with a little note for the mail person explaining why the mailbox maybe a little more wobbly than normal.
Now I think I’ll crawl into bed with a couple fingers of a beverage and call it a night. Here’s a link to the quilt, halfway sewn that’s back up on the wall. You know there is the big ironing thing coming up next.
