It’s always a tense and mysterious moment when the actual quilting begins. I’d done these vertical lines in the ditch to see if it would help keep things straight and with less wiggling.
I started in the middle after the lines were done. Outlining the strips as I go. Not caring about crossing lines. The flat individual squares become a matte, receding, continuous background. The strips come up. Result: floating.
Two thumbs up re the aurofil thread. That’s good since I have two 6452 yard cones! A bit glossier than the masterpiece thread which I don’t mind at all.
